Local Craft Brewer Gears up for Rapid Growth
Mission Springs Brewing Company will be opening a prototype pub in the Itaewon district of Seoul on June 01st. Koreans love their beer and are anxious for craft beer selections. Brock Rodgers, one of the owners of The Mission Springs was visiting his son, Santino, in Korea, in the fall of 2012, and the idea was brought up by local importers, Daniel Kangas and James Pollina, of Indulge Korea.
Mission Springs was started by Ken Brookes and Brock Rodgers in 1988, with the Brewery and Restaurant being added in 1994.
“Indulge will be distributing our products both in bottles at the retail level and in kegs to restaurants and bars. In addition, we are opening a craft pizza and beer restaurant under the name ‘The Springs Tap House,’” stated Rodgers.
Mission Springs has recently had to add an additional 300% to their manufacturing capacity in order to keep up with demand and are anxiously awaiting the delivery of a new bottling line.
“Since the introduction of Consulting Brewmaster, Mark Simpson and Head Brewer, Kevin Winter, the demand for our products has skyrocketed,” stated Rodgers. “Ken Brookes and I are exceedingly proud of the tremendous success that Mark, Kevin and the Brewery staff have been able to generate.”
“We were well ahead of the market in 1994 when we built the Brew Pub component, and remain the premier Brew Pub in the Fraser Valley,” stated Brookes. “Now with the tremendous demand for craft beer and the proliferation of small breweries in Vancouver, we are well positioned to enjoy the opportunity to expand.”
The Mission Springs Brewing Company has a full portfolio of interesting beers, packaged in 650ml bottles, as well as in keg format. Our aim is to be at the centre of great brewing and beer culture in the Fraser Valley.
